Joseph Sykes, between 18 April 2002 and 25 September 2002 engaged in conduct that was discreditable to a barrister in that he failed to act comply with undertakings he gave as Director and Secretary of Commercial Law Direct Limited to the High Court in a possession action between the said company and the Corporation of the City of London namely: 1. that all rents due for December 2001 quarter would be paid within 7 days and all rents due for the March quarter will be paid within 28 days and 2. to issue a Claim Form within 28 daysat a hearing before Mr Justice Hunt on 18th April 2002. Joseph Sykes, between 18 April 2002 and 25 September 2002 engaged in conduct that was discreditable to a barrister in that as Director and Secretary of Commercial Law Direct Limited he gave a cheque to the Corporation of the City of London for rent due from the said company in the sum of ?1,000 that was returned unpaid and marked ?Refer to Drawer?.
